STATE LEVEL PROJECT COMPETITION
 
General Rules
 
  1. Each team member must make significant contributions to the success of the team and be a full participant in the development of the project.
  2. No application or project may report upon, or otherwise deal with, (a) live or dead animal experimentation by the team or (b) experiments that involve human subjects.
  3. Neither an application nor an entry may contain any statement, data, information, or assertion (whether true or false) that would defame the character of, or expose to ridicule, any person living or Dead.
  4. If a  project contains materials that appear to violate any of these rules, ThinkQuest or the Judges may, at their sole discretion, disqualify the project or remove such material from the project that appear to violate such rules or requirements, and/or withdraw an award.
  5. Employees or close relatives of employees of Maratha Mandir are not eligible to participate as team members  in any ThinkQuest contest.
  6. While students are encouraged to seek guidance from parents, lecturers, friends, published sources and other collaborators via the Internet, the students must do their own work on the application and the project and must not permit any person (other than student members of the team) to perform such work (except when properly and clearly attributed to that person) and must not copy the words or images of others, except as permitted in the section Use of Copyrighted Materials. All materials in each project must be appropriate, in the opinion of the Judges, for use in Institutes or industry. These materials should also be suitable for other age groups.
  7. The application and entry forms, as well as other communications submitted to ThinkQuest must be written in English.
  8. Changes in Team Membership: If one or more members of a team is not able to continue to participate for any reason, ThinkQuest or the Judges shall determine what, in its or their judgment, are the appropriate steps to be taken.
  9. A decision to disqualify an application or a project will be be made by ThinkQuest or the Judges at their sole discretion.
  10. A project will remain the property of the submitting team. However ThinkQuest will have an irrevocable continuing license to make use of all or a portion of such project, as it initially is or as it may be modified, improved. They can also   make it available to persons or organizations desiring to use. ThinkQuest shall have the right, but no obligation, to take actions it deems appropriate to prevent misuse of an project. The team members, and their parent(s) and guardian(s), may take such steps or actions so as to prevent misuse of the project, as submitted, as they deem appropriate.
  11. Finality of ThinkQuest's Decisions: Each decision of ThinkQuest and each decision of any of the Judges, with respect to matter related to ThinkQuest contest, shall, in all respects, be final and binding on the team member(s), his or her or their parents or guardian(s), the Institute(s), and the lecturers, and shall not be subject to review.
  12. Choice of Laws and Resolution of Disputes: The ThinkQuest contests, and all disputes arising out of or relating to the agreement or agreements contained in these rules, the rules specific to each contest, and the contests themselves, shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Maharashtra, India. Dispute if any shall, upon the request of a party, be submitted to and settled by arbitration to be conducted in Mumbai, pursuant to the provisions of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 by appropriate authority. Any award or other determination rendered by them shall be final and binding upon the parties to such dispute. Each party shall pay for the costs of its own counsel, witnesses, other personal expenses, and its appropriate share of any costs agreed to be borne jointly.
  13. Modification of the Rules: ThinkQuest reserves the right to modify the Rules to the extent that it believes it is appropriate to enable the contest to be carried out most effectively and/or to comply with the laws and regulations.
  14. BGIT does not compete in the event.
